The Saga of The Napoleon Pastry!

Posted by asiadmin - May 31st, 2013

Well I googled! As well as my furry paws would allow me to google…that is! Apparently, in France, the Napoleon pastry is known as mille-feuilles, and outside of France it is known as a Napoleon. Yet, I remember distinctly that when we were in France with Mumzy and Popzy…it was known, understood, and ordered at the various cafes…by the name of…Napoleon! Therefore, there goes that theory…right out of the window…along with the crow which just flew by! Perhaps, the crow comes from France as well,…and he would know as to the origin of this most delicious pastry.

Mille-feuilles…my furry paws! Now what do I do? One would think that the humans of the world would have a sensible answer regarding this matter…one would think…would not one? Alas, it is said, that the pastry was indeed invented in France, and that it was indeed Napoleon Bonaparte’s favorite pastry. I should have asked the Emperor when I had the utmost pleasure of meeting him. If one wishes to know more regarding this particular matter, one may check out my book, Cat Paws Through History, Ko-Ko the Cat Meets Napoleon Bonaparte. Thus, I will continue researching this matter further. It is a rather curious matter, but then again, I am a rather curious pussycat…so there! Ta-ta!!! Phffft!
